Biography
Wang Yun is Associate Head of the Industrial Design Department. She engages in teaching and research at the intersection of design studies, education, and information technology. She excels in applying cutting-edge methodologies such as kansei engineering, affective computing, and embodied intelligence to product innovation design, service design, and design policy research.
Her research focuses on embodied affective interaction design for “AI (爱Love) Intelligence,” with the vision of transforming ‘AI into warm “ai (love)” intelligence’. She is committed to developing a human-centered, data-driven, and industry-oriented theoretical framework and methodology for embodied affective interaction design, emphasizing the scientific quantification of emotions, multimodal data-driven design, and the translation of academic research into real-world industrial and social service applications.

Dr Wang Yun has engaged in numerous academic and professional projects both domestic and international, including:
l Participant, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) basic research projects: Development of Nambu Ironware for Overseas Sales and Volume Calculation and Form Development of Mortise and Tenon Joints – exploratory research on the digital regeneration of traditional crafts
l Participant, Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry project: Research on Visual Effects and Packaging Design to Enhance Customer Appeal – gaining practical experience in visual communication and market research
l Principal Investigator, Guangdong Federation of Social Sciences project: Research on Value Addition of Museum Cultural and Creative Product Design through Service Innovation Thinking
l Participant, National Social Science Fund of China art project: A Comparative Study of Design Policies and Strategies in China, Japan, and South Korea from the Perspective of Mutual Learning among Civilizations
l Supervisor of students who won the Third Prize (National finals) and First Prize (Guangdong Division) at the Future Designer NCDA Awards in the project of Intelligent MR Ski Goggles Design Based on Embodied Cognition Theory
