On May 16, a 23-member delegation from The Association of Advertising Agents of Macau visited the International School of Design at Dongguan University of Technology. During the meeting, the Association officially joined the International Design Education Industry-Integration Alliance, initiated by DGUT. This marks the beginning of collaboration between Dongguan and Macau in design education, talent cultivation, and creative collaboration.

Complementary Design Ecosystems

Dongguan has a complete manufacturing sector but lacks an international branding platform. Macau has a strong exhibition industry but a limited design chain due to the absence of local manufacturing. The two cities share highly complementary design ecosystems.

Strategic Collaboration

The Alliance currently brings together over 20 international academic institutions and industry associations, and will now focus on design talent exchange and creative outcome translation between the two regions.

From Manufacturing Aesthetics to Cultural Export

Discussions centered on three initiatives: industry integration, joint talent cultivation, and co-organized exhibitions. A proposed collaboration will bring together artists and leading manufacturing enterprises from Dongguan, with Macau as the first overseas exhibition venue, showcasing design transformation and enriching Macau's cultural tourism offerings.
