On March 16, a delegation from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA), and China-Vietnam import and export enterprises, including Professor NGUYEN DUC VINH and Professor Hoàng Thúc Hào, visited the International School of Design at Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT). Two memorandum of understanding were signed, deepening China-Vietnam design education collaboration and marking Dongguan's strategic efforts to empower industry globalization through "Manufacturing Aesthetics" and build a China-ASEAN design innovation community.
01 Bridging Chinese and Vietnamese Industries Through Design
During the visit, HUCE officially joined the International Design Education Industry-Integration Alliance, bringing together universities, industry platforms, and digital trade channels from both countries to lay the foundation for industry-academia-research collaboration. Vietnam's rapid urbanization has created strong demand for high-quality design, making design a critical bridge connecting the two economies.
02 Two MOUs Signed for Mutual Empowerment
The first MOU establishes a university-level partnership focused on "Design Innovation International Joint Workshops," where faculty and students from both universities will collaborate on product prototyping and user experience design tailored to Vietnamese and ASEAN markets. The second MOU, signed with the Dongguan High-Tech Products Exhibition Center, launches a "Digital and Creative Design Empowering Industry Globalization" project covering five areas including brand internationalization and design talent cultivation. These two MOUs create a dual-driven model integrating educational collaboration with industry globalization.
03 Building a Design-Driven Model for International Development
From manufacturing to creation, and from Dongguan to ASEAN, design is becoming a vital link between industries and markets, and between China and the world. In the context of the digital economy and global trade, the integration of design innovation, digital technologies, and industrial applications is emerging as a key driver of corporate globalization.
