To accelerate the development of the International School of Design, a series of strategic academic seminars have been convened, bringing together university leadership, scholars, and industry representatives to explore innovative pathways for design education.
University-Industry Exchanges (February 3–6)
Led by President Ma Hongwei, the School conducted a series of site visits and exchanges with key enterprises and cultural institutions, including East Color Printing Packaging, Dongguan Weishi Culture Technology Co.,Ltd., Dongguan City Jingli Can Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Locator VFX, and Songshan Lake Boxes Art Museum. Discussions focused on curriculum optimization, co-building of training and practice bases, and cross-sector project incubation. These engagements established a clear direction for industry problem-driven teaching reform and laid the groundwork for an immersive practice chain spanning the entire academic cycle, bridging classroom learning with market realities and extending local impact to a global scale.
Strategic Planning
Professor Zhang Zhian was appointed as the School's Discipline Development Advisor and participated as a core expert in the Strategic Seminar on Discipline Development. The seminar addressed key issues including strategic positioning, disciplinary directions, talent cultivation, and master's program accreditation. The discussions generated important consensus on the School's future strategic direction and core pathways, laying a solid foundation for establishing the School as a high-level hub for design innovation in the Greater Bay Area.
